PJSIM and PJSIM_N

Overview and Download

PJSIM [1] is an analog circuit simulator for superconducting circuits composed of both conventional Josephson junctions (0-JJs) and pi-shifted Josephson junctions (pi-JJs). PJSIM is developed by modifying JSIM circuit simulator originally developed by UC Berkeley's group [2]. PJSIM_N is the modified PJSIM that can simulate circuit characteristics taking thermal noises at the arbitrary temperature into account by employing the thermal noise analysis method for superconducting circuits [3]. Usage of PJSIM (and PJSIM_N)  and how to describe the netlist of the circuit under analysis are the same as JSIM (and JSIM_N) [4] except description of the pi-shifted Josephson junction in the netlist.

Building PJSIM (and PJSIM_N)

If you can execute 'make' and 'gcc' commands, simply type

> make

on your console. Confirm that the execution file "pjsim.exe" is built.

This should work on most Linux systems and their compatible environments, such as Cygwin in Windows.

Example

Try the following transient analysis of pi-dc-SQUID in the directory you compiled PJSIM.

> pjsim pi-dc-squid.inp

If the output file (OUT.TXT) is obtained with no error, PJSIM is correctly build.
